New high school announced for Eastern Passage

Students in Eastern Passage can look forward to attending a brand new school, in their very own community.

High school students in Eastern Passage now commute to Cole Harbour each day.

The province will invest $21 million to build the structure, which is expected to be ready for the 2015-16 school year.

The change also means that Cole Harbour District High School will have space for a new skilled trades centre, with the province also contributing $10 million towards.

The location for the new school in Eastern Passage has yet to be determined, but it’s anticipated it will be built near the exisiting Seaside Elementary School.

The school board is working with the province to choose a site as soon as possible so construction can begin.
