A 36-year-old man is dead after losing control of his vehicle and crashing into a ditch in Cape Breton.

Cheticamp RCMP say the man was traveling northbound on the Cabot Trail when he crashed around 6:20 Friday night. The driver was not wearing his seat belt and RCMP believe alcohol may have been a factor.

He died on scene and his name has not been released.
