Construction of Nova Centre going ahead before redesign approval

The province has agreed to a request by HRM to let construction on the Nova Centre continue downtown, even though redesign plans for the project haven’t been approved yet.

The Nova Centre developer has proposed several significant changes to the approved design after feedback from public consultations across the province last summer.

Nova Centre is the largest integrated development project in the province’s history, and is expected to generate $85 million in provincial tax revenue in 10 years.
