Gas prices drop heading into long weekend

For the second week in a row gasoline prices have dropped across Nova Scotia.

The UARB used its weekly price adjustment to lower the price of a litre of regular self-serve by 1.9 cents to a new minimum price of 135.2.

There was a similar drop in the price of diesel fuel with the cost going down 1.6 cents a litre to 130.2.

One year ago, drivers were paying about 11 cents a litre less for gas with a litre selling at 1.26, and a diesel fuel was selling at 1.24.

12 months ago, oil was trading at $87.13 us a barrel which was about $20 less than yesterday’s closing price of $107.89.
