Three people seriously injured after three vehicle collision

Three people are in hospital with serious injuries sustained from a crash between two motorcycles and a car on Highway 3.

Luneburg RCMP were called to the scene at 7:15 Saturday night. The Mounties say two people were riding a motorcycle heading eastbound on the highway when the bike collided with a vehicle stopped ahead of them. The bike hit the car, then landed in the path of an oncoming motorcycle from the other direction, causing a second collision.

The 74-year-old Petite Rivière man driving the second motorbike sustained moderate injuries, while the three others were sent to the South Shore Regional Hospital with serious injuries.

The rider of the first motorcycle was then airlifted to the QEII in Halifax. The driver of the car was not hurt.
