Nova Scotia’s three party leaders spent Wednesday morning sharing their political goals for the province with the Halifax Chamber of Commerce.
The discussion between the three candidates got quite lively, with all being asked to share their top three priorities.
The NDP says they plan not to pass up any opportunities, naming the shipbuilding contract as an example.
The Progressive Conservatives want to provide tax relief and balance the budget, and the Liberals say they plan to make energy a top priority.
PC leader Jamie Baillie says the more debates like today’s – the better.
“This is a very important election,” explained Baillie. “It’s about whether we want more of the same, or if we want real change that works for people, starting at the top.”
He says he’s dissapointed in the platitudes he heard from the other candidates Wednesday morning.
Premier Darrell Dexter feels the discussion between leaders was useful.
“We do get to set out what I think the differences are, and there are going to be substantial differences,” said Dexter.
He adds the next election is going to come down to who’s going to be best able to provide the things Nova Scotian families need.
