Three hikers who went missing in Pictou County during a camping trip were found tired, wet and hungry – but otherwise in good health yesterday.

The three men were reported missing early Monday in the MacKinnon Lake area of Sunnybrae after failing to return from a Sunday afternoon hike.

With the help of Pictou County Ground Search and Rescue the trio was found around 1 p.m. Monday afternoon about four kilometres from where they were camping.

Twenty to 25 volunteer searchers gave up part of their Labour Day weekend to help in the search effort.
