Police say whatever the online group Anonymous may have said to the Nova Scotia New Democrats, it was not criminal.
A member of the NDP filed a police report Tuesday about comments accusing the party of using unsavory tactics in the online portion of its election campaign.
A senior investigator with the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section has reviewed the information and said Wednesday that the comments were not criminal in nature and the case has been closed.
NDP President David Wallbridge said in a release Tuesday the party is not just concerned about the possible threat in the emails but by the fact that false information was widely reported and tweeted by mainstream media.
Anonymous accused the NDP of trolling, employing bots, and paying tweeters on social media.
