Arrest made in bird-napping case, Schooner the parrot found safe

It’s hard to guess how exciting the day-to-day life of a Blue-fronted Amazon parrot is, but there’s no question things got a little more interesting for Schooner when he was stolen from the Bedford Pets Unlimited Monday evening.
Now we’ve learned his adventures have come to an end and he’s safe and sound after police made an arrest.
Staff Sgt. Barb Saunders told News 95.7 police arrested a 29-year-old man from the Bridgewater area last night.
“A search warrant was also executed at the suspect’s residence and that was where the parrot was located,” she said. “The male has been brought back to Halifax and is currently in custody and will be appearing in court later today.”
Police are still trying to track down the other suspect, a white man, 40-45-years-old, 200 lbs., 5’8″, with short grey hair. He was wearing a light blue t-shirt and black vest at the time of the theft.
Schooner is said to have a limited vocabulary but it’s doubtful he’ll be called as a witness if the case goes to trial.
