A small fire has caused a lot of smoke and damage to a corner store in the south end of Halifax.
At 8 o’clock this morning, Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency were called to Point Pleasant Grocery at 506 Tower Road. Division commander Lloyd Currie says the fire within the closed store was extinguished within minutes.
“When crews arrived there was a working fire on the first floor,” explained Currie. “They had a pretty quick knock down.”
Currie says they’re still trying to determine what caused the blaze. Investigators will be on scene later today.
