The Halifax Mooseheads broke open a close game in the final period when they scored five times to defeat their provincial rivals from Cape Breton 7-3.
Halifax held a 2-1 lead until Luca Ciampini opened the flood gates with a power play goal at 7:11 of the third period.
Darcy Ashley then scored a short-handed marker while Andrew Shewfelt, Andrew Ryan – with his second of the game – and Nikolaj Ehlers also potted goals.
Brent Andrews was named the first star of the game with one goal and two assists. Goaltender Zack Fucale was sharp, making 40 saves.
There were 6,137 fans in attendance at the Halifax Metro Centre.
The Mooseheads will bring a two-game winning streak into a home game Friday night versus Val D’Or.
