Elderly man robbed in New Glasgow

New Glasgow Regional Police have charged a 22-year-old man with robbery with violence after a robbery that occurred at a Royal Bank ATM early Friday morning in downtown New Glasgow.

Police say a 72-year-old man was using an ATM at 91 Provost Street when he was assaulted and robbed. He was taken to Aberdeen Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The accused was arrested on James Street. He’s scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
