Halifax corner store robbed at knifepoint

A corner store in Halifax was robbed at knifepoint last night around 7 o’clock.

A 28-year-old-man entered Olivet Grocery at 3803 Olivet Street where he produced a knife, demanded cigarettes, and fled the store with the stolen goods.

“Police were called to the scene and managed to track down the man at a nearby residence,” explained Staff Sergeant Reid McCoombs. “He was arrested without incident at that residence.”

The man is due in court Monday to face robbery and a number of weapons charges.
