Man stabbed in the back, lips cut

A 50-year-old man is recovering in the QEII hospital with non-life threatening injuries after he was found with a stab wound in his back and a severe cut to his lips.

At Saturday morning around 1:00 am, Halifax Regional Police were called to the 200-block of Windmill Road near the McDonald Bridge.

“The man was involved in an altercation with a woman who is known to him,” said Staff Sergeant Reid McCoombs. “A residence was checked. The female has not been located at this time and the matter is still under investigation.”

He said police know who the woman is. They’ll be attempting to find her Saturday.
