Impaired driver in hospital

A man is in hospital this morning after police say he crashed his SUV into another vehicle last night on Joseph Howe Drive.

Halifax Regional Police say the 59-year-old driver was traveling northbound in the area of 2985 Joseph Howe Dr., when he crossed the centre line and struck a southbound Nissan Murano.

The crash happened around 7:40 p.m.

Both drivers were taken to hospital. The driver of the Murano was treated and released.

The Halifax man behind the wheel of the other vehicle has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

His injuries are described as non-life threatening.
