Attempted robbery in Highfield Park Friday night

Halifax Regional Police are looking for three suspects in an attempted robbery last night.

At midnight, police were called to Highfield Park Drive where two 21-year-old men had just left a Needs store and were followed by three young men. The suspects asked for a light for a cigarette, then demanded the two empty their pockets. When the two refused, the suspects pulled out a baseball bat and bear spray.

The two refused again, officers say the suspects then fled on foot empty handed and without using the weapons. Police are looking for the three suspects described as black men in their late teens or early twenties. They were wearing dark clothing at the time.
