Christmas is in less than two weeks, and firefighters are reminding people to stay safe.
Acting Fire Prevention Officer Linden Best tells News 95.7 there are more fire hazards this time of year.
“It’s the time of year when candles are burning, there are Christmas tree lights, there are a lot of wrappers and present and more thing that can go wrong,” he explains.
Best says electrical wiring is one of the more dangerous factors.
“When more wires are used around trees, you want to be careful,” he says.
He recommends using lower wattage, cooler LED style lights.
