The Canadian Automobile Association has some helpful tips as Maritimers deal with Old Man Winter.
C.A.A.’s Gary Howard said motorists should be careful to avoid any quick actions when dealing with snowy and icy conditions.
“Don’t start quickly, don’t brake heavily,” said Howard. “If you go into a skid, slowly remove your foot from the accelerator and try to correct the vehicle. Anything dramatic could just cause a sudden spin.”
Howard also recommended all vehicles be equipped with four winter tires.
He said winter tires are more elastic and grip better in winter weather.
