Halifax homicide rate drops

HALIFAX, N.S. – Figures released on the homicide rate in Halifax show the city is no longer among the top spots for killings in the country.
Two years ago, it placed second on a per capita basis, with 19 deaths.
But figures released yesterday indicate the figure is at eight so far this year — well down the national list.
One of those involved a person with dementia in an old age home and two were traffic related.
