North Park traffic roundabout designs move forward

A proposal for two roundabouts on the Halifax peninsula is moving forward.
Information gathered at a round of public consultations on the proposals for the intersection of North Park Street (North Park/Agricola/Cunard streets and North Park/Cogswell/Rainnie streets) has been condensed and cobbled into a set of drawings for public viewing.
The two intersections have long been identified as problem areas and Council has determined that building the roundabouots is a viable solution
“A lot of conflicts, I’ve seen a lot of near-misses, things that have occurred there,” said Councillor Jennifer Watts. “I think, personally, looking at the placement of roundabouts there.”
Watts says the new drawings were born out of feedback from concerned residents.
“Last year we had a good public consultation,” said Watts. “A lot of people attended. There was a lot of interest in that.”
