Chisholm to hold town hall on Canada Post changes

A meeting is scheduled for tonight in Dartmouth to allow people to speak up about changes to Canada Post that will affect and door-to-door mail delivery.
NDP MP for Dartmouth-Cole Harbour, Robert Chisholm is holding the community town hall.
He told News 95.7 he’s going to do everything he can to push back any decisions that are being made.
“Sometimes it’s successful, sometimes it isn’t. But I’m not going to be quiet and I’m hearing from a lot of my constituents, they’re saying the same thing,” explained Chisholm.
A number of organizations are expected to make presentations at the meeting, including seniors, those facing mobility issues, small businesses and Canada Post employees.
In December, Canada Post announced it would be eliminating door-to-door mail delivery, and thousands of jobs as the crown corporation struggles with continued losses.
The post office was widely criticized when it announced the plan late last year.
Tonight’s meeting in Dartmouth will be held at the Woodlawn United Church, starting at 6:30.
