Nova Scotia’s NDP says emails prove that the Liberal’s chief of protocol was appointed solely on patronage.
The party says they have obtained documents through the Freedom of Information Act that they feel show one of Premier McNeil’s first priorities was getting his former communications director a job in the protocol office.
The emails sent to News 95.7 by the NDP also show McNeil’s chief of staff discussed re-jigging Glennie Langille’s resume specifically for the protocol office just two days after the new government was sworn in.
When the appointment happened, McNeil told media that other names had been brought forward but he felt Langille was the best choice.
