Our newsroom is predicting that when the UARB makes its weekly adjustment at midnight, the price will jump by about 3 cents a litre.

George Murphy of Consumers for Fair Gas Prices told News 95.7 with the price well into the $1.30 range in February he is concerned about where prices will be heading into the traditional driving season.

“We’re not going to have that time for prices to decline so the question is out there now, what are we going to be looking at during the summer?  And right now, by the way this is shaping up, we’re going to be looking at $1.40 a litre starting off summer driving season,” explained Murphy.

Across the border in New Brunswick, prices jumped 2.6 cents a litre overnight to a new maximum price of $137.5.
