Two men wanted in Halifax gunpoint abduction

Police are trying to find two men wanted in the gunpoint abduction of a man.

A 19-year-old man called police at 4:50 a.m. Sunday morning and said he had been assaulted and was being held against his will at a home in the 3000 block of McAlpine Avenue in west-end Halifax by several men, including one with a gun.

He was eventually freed and taken to hospital for treatment.

Police at the scene arrested two 16-year-old boys, but found no gun.

Investigators say everyone involved knew each other.

Now police have an Atlantic Region-wide warrant for the arrests of two men: Robert Roech Chan, 21, and Daniel Angus Ryan, 20, both from Halifax.

“Chan and Ryan are believed to be in HRM at this time,” say Halifax Regional Police. “They are considered armed and dangerous and members of the public should not approach them or try to take matters into their own hands.”

Police are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of these men to contact Halifax Regional Police.
