StFX names Dr. Kent MacDonald new president

St. Francis Xavier University has chosen a new president.
Dr. Kent MacDonald is a Saint FX alumnus, currently president of Algonquin College in Ottawa.
“I am very passionate about higher education and am a believer in the model of education at my alma mater,” said Dr. MacDonald. “StFX University delivers on a commitment to provide the very best educational experience. I feel tremendously fortunate to have the opportunity to work closely with exemplary faculty and staff in shaping StFX’s future,” said Dr. MacDonald.”
He graduated with a phys ed degree in 1986, then a master of education in 1993.
He earned a doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania, focusing his research on higher education management.
