Experts take the stand in Lyle Howe trial

Two experts have taken the stand in the sexual assault trial of well-known Halifax lawyer Lyle Howe.
A DNA expert with RCMP testified that Howe’s DNA was found on two condoms and a blazer collected at the home of complainant in the case.
DNA from Howe’s friend Jeffery Brown was also found on the blazer.
The court also heard from a nurse who examined the complainant the night of the alleged incident in March, 2011. She testified the woman had redness near her genitals and bruising on her chest and sternum.
The nurse also told the court she didn’t give proper instructions to the complainant on how to collect the evidence from her home, and now the defence is suggesting there could be a possibility of cross-contamination.
Lyle Howe is accused of sexually assaulting and drugging a woman, he has pleaded not guilty.
