Pedestrian hit in marked crosswalk Monday night

A 21-year-old man sustained only minor injuries after being hit by a car in Halifax Monday night.

Police say the incident happened around 10 p.m. on Queen Street in a marked crosswalk when a driver turned left onto Clyde Street.

Police say the 30-year-old driver stopped to offer assistance to the victim, provided his information and helped the man get home safely.

The victim didn’t report the incident until yesterday afternoon.

Police say the matter remains under investigation.
