Halifax police are on scene at Lake Micmac in Dartmouth after receiving reports of an overturned canoe.

Constable Pierre Bourdages told News 95.7 it’s not yet known whether anyone was in the boat.

“At this time, there is no indication that anybody was in the canoe, or fell over in the canoe,” said Bourdages. “We still have an officer on scene, the canoe has been removed and the investigation is continuing.”

Police say they responded to the call at 6:53 a.m. this morning.
