MONCTON, N.B. – RCMP have held a news conference updating the public on the manhunt for Justin Bourque.
They are continuing to search for the 24-year old – believed to be responsible for shooting five RCMP officers last night.
While responding to a complaint in the north end of Moncton, three Codiac Regional RCMP officers were shot and killed.
Two other police officers sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Codiac RCMP say a number of specialized units are involved in the search.
Corporal Chantal Farrah says they are still focusing their search in the northwestern part of the city.
“Emergency response teams, tactical armoured vehicles, air support, major crime units, special-I, special-O, police dog services as well as a significant number of officers from all parts of the province, and elsewhere, who are actively searching for the suspect.”
Bourque is believed to be armed and dangerous.
