Funeral Tuesday for three Moncton Mounties

MONCTON, N.B. – Funeral services for the three Mounties gunned down in New Brunswick last week will be held on Tuesday.

The RCMP says a full regimental funeral will be held in Moncton for Constables David Ross, Fabrice Georges Gevaudan and Douglas James Larche.

There will be a parade of Mounties and officers from other law enforcement agencies before the funeral services are held at a Moncton arena.

Signs of gratitude for the Mounties can be seen everywhere in Moncton.

Condolence books have been set up at city hall.

In the neighbourhood where the officers were killed businesses and homes have posted messages of thanks and some people have written messages in chalk on their driveways.

Yesterday more than 200 locals held a bike rally and many had handmade signs hanging from handlebars that featured messages like, “Thank you RCMP.”

A 24-year old suspect in the killings was arrested on Friday and faces murder and attempted murder charges.
