MONCTON, N.B. – A spectacular fireworks display is planned for Tuesday night in Moncton to pay tribute to the three Codiac RCMP officers who were killed in the line of duty on June 4.
Fred Wade of Fireworks FX says three large shells will be fired into the air at the beginning of the Canada Day fireworks display.
He says the shells are expected to create a golden canopy about one square kilometre across, followed by a minute of silence.
Wade says he wanted to do something special to remember constables Dave Ross, Douglas Larche and Fabrice Gevaudan.
The tribute will cap off a day of Canada Day activities that will begin at 11am.
Wade says he had another fireworks company in British Columbia contact him about his idea. They plan to start off their fireworks display with three large shells followed by a minute of silence for the fallen officers.
