Home for Colored Children deal expected to be finalized today

Nova Scotia’s Supreme Court is expected to give final approval for a $29-million deal between the province and some former residents of the Nova Scotia Home for Colored Children.

If approved by Justice Arthur LeBlanc, former residents who say they suffered physical, sexual and psychological abuse while living at the home, will split the settlement.

If there are no delays, the money is expected to be handed out this fall.
