GREENHILL, N.S. – The future is murky for a Nova Scotia amusement and water park that relies on well water for its business.
Bill MacNeil, owner of Magic Valley Fun Park, says he’s hoping the Municipality of Pictou County will agree to extend its water line to his business in Greenhill.
He says that would allow the park to use treated water instead of well water, which grows algae quickly.
The park opened in 1971 and MacNeil says he’d like to make upgrades to attract more visitors but treating the well water is expensive.
MacNeil says he’s debated whether it’s worth it to keep the park open.
Councillor David Parker says the county is willing to discuss extending the water line if the park agrees to contribute to the project’s cost.
