Halifax Regional Police are searching for suspects after a shooting in North Dartmouth late last night.
Police responded to the call at 11:30 p.m. after neighbours on Crystal Dr. heard shots fired in an apartment building.
Staff Sgt. Reid McCoombs said a 17-year-old boy had been shot in the hand and was taken to the hospital, but added the victim is not giving police any details on the person who shot him.
“He was transported to Dartmouth General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries,” he said. “No one’s been arrested yet in the incident, and the victim is not cooperating with the police investigation.”
McCoombs said a man was seen fleeing the area at the time of the shooting. He’s described as a black man with a thin build, five-foot-four, wearing black jogging pants and a white hoodie.
“We’re still continuing the investigation. The only information we have at this time is that one person was seen running from the area.”
Police are still looking for any information on any suspects involved in the incident.
