HALIFAX – A 48-year-old woman in Halifax is charged with attempted murder after a man she lives with was found stabbed in their home.
Police say they were called to the home in Hammonds Plains on Tuesday night and discovered the man suffering from stab wounds.
He was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say the two live in the same home but declined to describe the nature of their relationship.
Police say the woman fled into a nearby wooded area armed with a knife.
RCMP Const. Mark Skinner says the woman suffered an injury when a police dog bit her on the leg during her arrest.
The Mounties have contacted the Serious Incident Response team, which investigates when people are injured during arrest.
The accused is in police custody and is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court on Thursday.
