Halifax Regional Police arrested a teenage boy who had barricaded himself inside a house in Dartmouth this afternoon.
At 1:57 p.m., officers looking to serve an arrest warrant against a 16-year-old boy went to a house in the 200 block of Spring Avenue. Officers made contact with the boy from outside the house and he said he wouldn’t come out and that he had knives.
Police formed a perimeter around the house and called in back-up, and at about 2:30, he came out unarmed and was arrested.
Officers remained at the scene Tuesday afternoon while the investigation continued. The boy is in custody and charges are anticipated.
