RCMP say two people have been taken to hospital after a head-on collision on Highway 104.

It happened just after 11 this morning near Barney’s River Station in Pictou County.

Police say an eastbound car skidded on the ice and collided with a westbound SUV.

A woman in her 20s and a 2-year-old girl, both passengers in the car, were taken to hospital with what police describe as non-life-threatening injuries.

Both drivers were unharmed.
