Buses are back on city streets, and for now, it’s a free ride.
The city is warning riders that some routes may be on detours, and many bus stops have not yet been cleared.
Halifax Transit is offering free bus and ferry service until the end of Sunday.
Ferries started running Thursday morning, and a limited bus service starting operating yesterday afternoon.
All transit services were called off Wednesday when HRM was hit by a significant snow storm.
Snow-choked streets prevented buses from hitting the roads, and a heavy snow load on the Burnside Transit Centre created unsafe working conditions for employees, closing the building down.
As of Friday morning, bus and Access-A-Bus services have resumed regular operations.
