Linda Mosher’s traffic ticket thrown out

Councillor Linda Mosher has fought a $227 traffic ticket and won despite hitting a cyclist.

Mosher was given the ticket for making an unsafe lane change last May.

Her lawyer, Gaven Giles argued she wasn’t making a lane change, but turning a corner when she hit a cyclist.

The Chronicle Herald says, according to testimony, Mosher was stopped on North Street heading toward the MacDonald Bridge.

She was delayed when traffic started moving again, according the Karen MacLean in the vehicle behind her.

MacLean said, Mosher then hit the gas, turned onto Robie and hit Nicholas Wilkinson riding his bike through the intersection.

Wilkinson fell and Mosher kept going.

MacLean said she followed Mosher and caught up with her at a nearby gas station where she confronted her about the accident.

Mosher told MacLean she did not know.

The court granted Giles’ request to toss the case.
