Main runway to re-open at Halifax Stanfield

The main runway at Halifax Stanfield International Airport will re-open Thursday evening.

The Halifax International Airport Authority says the runway (05/23), has been closed since an Air Canada crash nearly two weeks ago, and will re-open with “limitations” at 8 p.m.

It says the runway has been cleaned, tested, and undergone an environmental assessment, but a time frame for the runway’s full availability is still uncertain.

Travellers are advised to check the airport’s website for the latest information on arrival and departure times.
