Roundabout construction closures underway

Traffic disruptions near the Halifax North Common start Sunday as construction begins to add a roundabout to the area.
As of 7 a.m. Sunday, North Park Street between Cornwallis Street and Cogswell Street will be closed, along with Cogswell Street between North Park Street and Bauer Street.
The block of Cogswell Street between Bauer and Gottingen street will be only open to local traffic.
There will also be transit disruptions, riders who take the #6 bus are asked to check with Halifax Transit for more details.
The city says the roundabout will reduce delays, as well as improve safety for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.
This first phase of closures is expected to last until early June.
