Belmont man in critical condition after hitting deer on motorcycle

Colchester RCMP is investigating a crash between a motorcycle and a deer on Onslow Mountain Road that sent a Belmont man to hospital in critical condition.

The man was found in the middle of the road around 11:30 p.m. Friday night, with a deceased deer found in the westbound lane.

RCMP believes the motorcyclist was travelling eastbound on Onslow Mountain Road when he hit the deer.

The man was taken to hospital by paramedics and then airlifted to the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, where he remains in critical condition.
