Students return to class at John W. MacLeod after 2nd threat this year

Students at  John W. MacLeod Elementary School have returned to class after a bomb threat earlier today.

Halifax Regional Police were called to the school on Purcells Cove Road at 8:08 a.m. and gave the all-clear at around 10 a.m.

Halifax Regional School Board said students were safely relocated to nearby Fleming Tower Elementary while K9 units swept the building.

This is the second threat the school has received this year, in late May classes were dismissed at John W. MacLeod and the building evacuated because of a bomb threat.

In the previous instance, police did not find anything suspicious and the all clear was given after about 2-hours.
