BATHURST — The Halifax Mooseheads were edged by the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Thursday night, 4-3.
Mooseheads captain Timo Meier opened up the scoring early in the first period. He scored again on a powerplay in the second period. Danny Moynihan scored late in the third with just 4:25 left to go, but it wasn’t enough for a comeback.
The Titan’s first goal didn’t come until early in the second period. They then scored four uninterrupted goals against the Mooseheads for the win.
Jeffrey Truchon-Viel, Christophe Boivin, Antoine Morand and Mark Simpson each contributed goals to the Titan’s offensive effort.
The loss drops the Mooseheads’ record down to 8-13-1-1. The Titan are sitting at 8-13-2-0.
