HALIFAX – Nova Scotia drivers will save some cash by waiting to fill up their gas tanks until Friday.
NEWS 95.7 is predicting when prices are adjusted at midnight, they will fall by about a nickel per litre.
George Murphy of Consumers for Fair Gas Prices said the big oil producing countries are unable to force others to cut back production, which is in turn driving prices down.
“The Saudi’s and the rest of OPEC are going to have to chase down the non-OPEC producers,” Murphy said.
“Countries like Russia and Mexico, who are still producing massive amounts of crude oil and putting out on the markets too, they’re going to have to talk these countries in to some kind of cuts.”
In New Brunswick, a big drop in the price was recorded overnight as that province’s regular set the maximum price at 98.4 cents per litre, a 5.2 cent decline.
