31 eye surgeries postponed after flooding at VG’s Centennial Building

The Nova Scotia Health Authority says water has been restored to the Centennial Building at the Victoria General site.

They say the source of an earlier flood, mainly affected a sterile supplies room, has been found an repaired.

They have postponed 31 eye surgeries that were scheduled for today, and other operating rooms remain on hold.

Everton McLean, a spokesman with the Nova Scotia Health Authority, says they suspect a pipe burst on the third floor sometime after 5 a.m.

This latest incident comes after a pipe burst in the Victoria General site in September, flooding several floors and postponing dozens of surgeries.
