Nova Scotia Introduces E-processing for most immigration applications

HALIFAX – Prospective immigrants to the province will now able to apply to immigrate through an online system.

Immigration Minister Lena Metlege-Diab says E-processing will help make it more convenient for applicants, giving them immediate feedback on any incomplete files.

However, The Nova Scotia Office of Immigration says it will still continue to accept paper-based applications for immigrant streams until the end of June.

The province also announced a temporary halt taking in new applications for its Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry Stream as part of an effort to work through high demand.

Nova Scotia will nominate 1,350 immigrants under the provincial nominee program in 2015, nearly double the 2014 cap of 700.
