Police make arrest in Ultramar gas station robbery

HALIFAX – Regional Police have arrested a suspect wanted in relation to a robbery earlier this month at the Pleasant Street Ultramar in Dartmouth.

Police say on January 10th, a man came into the store with a knife just before 11:00 p.m. and left with cigarettes and cash, before fleeing northbound.

A K-9 unit was called in to help search for the man, but couldn’t locate the suspect.

Officers were able to arrest a 17-year-old youth on Barrington Street in Halifax on Monday afternoon in relation to the incident.

He’s scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial youth court Tuesday on charges of robbery with a weapon and breach of a probation order under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
