Man facing charges after early morning attempted robbery

HALIFAX – A 25-year-old man will appear in provincial court Thursday after an attempted robbery in south end Halifax earlier in the day.
Regional police said around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, a man went in to a business on Queen Street between South Street and Morris Street and passed a note to the clerk demanding cash and indicating he had a weapon.
The employee read the note and quickly ran to the back of the store, while the suspect quickly set off a fire extinguisher and left empty-handed.
A K9 unit helped tracked the suspect down on Morris Street where he was arrested and now faces robbery charges.
