Halifax Regional Police say they are investigating a sexual assault that happened earlier this month.

A 23-year-old woman reported to police she was picked up by a taxi in the area of Argyle and Price streets sometime between 2:45 – 3:15 a.m. on May 6th.

The driver dropped her off near Walnut and Cedar Streets.

When she asked him how much she owed, police say he said, “no charge”, then forcibly kissed her on the lips and touched her in a sexual manner.

She jumped out of the cab and hid until he left.

The suspect had an accent, is in his late 30s and is described as possibly a Middle Eastern or a light-complected black man.

He’s around 5’8″ with a medium build, bald shiny head, clean shaven face and dark eyes.

The vehicle was a black van with a roof light.
